30th
today was unlike any other day…
I woke up, tired… to a text that said,”can you come in tomorrow instead? we have a training session.” Thank god! I thought. no commute for me today. I immediately went to my desk and started working. Around 12:30, I decide ‘I’ll change amadeus’ water.’ Amadeus is our sweet fish that we have had for more than a year. I’m even surprised today that he has been with us for so long. I watch him while i keep working at my desk. He seems a bit more perky than usual. He was jumping up and away in his bowl. Poor thing. I forgot to mention I hurt his fin the last time I changed his water and he hasn’t been able to swim under since. I feel awful about it.. Anyhoo, I came home after working my cooking job. A fedex package of my 2GB of ram for my computer was waiting for me at the door way. By the way, it’s already faster and I can have more than just firefox open. Why am I craving scallion pancakes right now?!?!? anyhoo. I begin to look for a small screwdriver to actually unscrew the mini screws that apple decided to use to build their computers.. 3 screwdrives, 2 knives, 1 tweeser and a swiss army knife later, I get the damn thing open.. I start to sweat thinking, ” how the hell am i going to get this thing closed?!?!” I look to my left and I don’t see amadeus staring at me as usual. I thought, “no.. no way.. NO!!! Crap! Where the f!@$! is he?” I looked inside his bowl and he was no where to be found. i looked behind the desk, no amadeus. I looked to the left of the carpet. And alas, there he was, all dried up. He probably had been laying there fluttering, drying up for more than 6 hours. Poor amadeus, rest his soul. I felt like amelie as a child when her fish tried to commit suicide. I knew i should have put a book on top of the damn bowl.. May he rest in peace. He was a great pet. We will miss him.

p.s. I almost shit my pants when my computer wouldn’t start after I installed the memory. It wasn’t until after i took off the stickers of the memory cards that it worked again. try screwing and unscrewing 3 mini screws 3 times! life is short.. live it up or it can pass you by.
